One Good Thing Every Day: April 8, 2013

If you woke up on this dreary Monday feeling like Solomon, take heart!

Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 NIV

I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
    I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor,
    and this was the reward for all my toil.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
    and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
    nothing was gained under the sun.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 NLT

For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.

“It is not wrong to seek glory; the question is whether you’re looking for it from others or from the Lord. One does not even compare to the other!” from A Jane Austen Devotional

2 Thessalonians 2:14 NLT

He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:8 NIV

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Romans 8:31 NIV

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
