One Good Thing Every Day: April 19, 2013

Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

“When human ultimatums are added to God’s loving directives, the Christian life becomes burdensome. This is not what Jesus wants for me–or for you.” from Joan C. Webb’s It’s a Wonderful Imperfect Life

“Sometimes you feel uneasy, wondering if you are doing enough to be worthy of My Love. No matter how exemplary your behavior, the answer to that question will always be no….your accomplishment as a Christian has no bearing on My Love for you….Bring your performance anxiety to Me, and receive in its place My unfailing love.” from Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence

Psalm 31:16 NIV

Let your face shine on your servant;
    save me in your unfailing love.

  1. Beautiful… I love Sarah Young’s “Jesus Calling” A very Spirit lead devotional.
    Matt 11:28 has meant so much to me since God had me speak in Kenya on that verse.
    Thank you for “feeding” my soul today.
