Books of the Month: September 2013

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Anne-with-an-“e” has always been a kindred spirit. Now my boys see her as one, too. It was a joy to share this favorite with them. They read much of her story independently and broadened their vocabulary through Anne’s loquaciousness. We worked through a Progeny Press study guide, which I highly recommend for reading comprehension, discussion, and activities.

How the Light Gets In by Louise Penny

I have anticipated this Inspector Gamache novel all year, and Louise Penny did not disappoint. Her mysteries are deepened by her intriguing characters. I can’t wait to read her next book!
